Know Yourself by Irene Smit and Astrid van der Hulst

KNOW YOURSELF by Irene Smit and Astrid van der Hulst is a really fun, reflective book that we
may use to help with displays in the library. Much of the book features hand lettering by Milou Curvers, a Dutch graphic designer. Examples of some of the questions posed are :

  • Which day of your life would you like to relive?
  • What were the three best things that happened today?
  • If you could start your own business, what would it be?
  • When did you last do something for the first time?

Clearly, the questions could also be used to prompt discussions in advisory or to start some internal monologues and this book could make a cute graduation gift, too. The authors are creative directors of Flow magazine and we have a few other books that celebrate “creativity, imperfection and life’s little pleasures” like recently ordered copy of Creativity Takes Courage, Journal Sparks and Start Where You Are.
