The ALA's Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF) recently revised the list of the 10 most challenged books for 2008.
Four books are added to the list:
Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya ; Uncle Bobby's Wedding by Sarah S Brannen; The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini; Flashcards of My Life by Charise Mericle Harper.

As librarians we must continue to be vigilant in protecting our readers' First Amendment rights.

I read "Bless Me Ultima" back in college. It is a beautiful, heartfelt, loving-family book. I am very curious to know why it is has been challenged.
